MINUTES
TERRY STAFF REPRESENTATIVE GROUP
November 8th, 2006

The Terry College of Business Staff Representative Group met Wednesday, November 8th, 2006, 9:00 a.m. in 327 Brooks Hall.

Members Present: (Accounting) Marsha Dickerson, (Associate Dean's Office for Faculty & Administration) Sheila King, (Business Office) Betty Baskins (Dean's Office) Betty Pharr, (Economics) Joanna Warren, (Finance) Lesley Jones, (Insurance, Legal Studies & Real Estate) Janet Still, (International Business) Sally Vandiver, (Logistical Support) Stan Johnson, (Management) Ruth Davis, (Marketing & Distribution) Connie Autry, (Management Information Systems) Cynthia Huff, (Selig Center & Executive Programs) Ian Armit, (Undergraduate Program Office & Terry at Gwinnett) Cindy Daniel. Members Absent: (Development) Tony Stringer, (Graduate Office) Donna Sisk, (Institute for Leadership Advancement) Regina Lagarino, (OIT and Marketing & Communications) Elaine Merrill.

The meeting was called to order at 9:10 by Cindy Daniel. There were no corrections to the minutes of the October SRG meeting and they were approved as written. These minutes have been placed on the Terry College V Drive.

Elaine Merrill was not able to attend the meeting but had reported to Cindy Daniel that a response was received from the Athletic Department regarding the letter Staff Council sent concerning the UGA football ticket problems mentioned at the last meeting. Elaine will be asked to present a copy of the letter for our December meeting.

There was continued discussion for the upcoming Terry staff events; Dean's Staff Holiday Luncheon, which includes collecting of gift money for the custodial staff (notice has already gone out) and the Dean's gift to support a local charity or cause. (We are waiting on the Dean to choose his cause for donations prior to sending out a letter requesting donations). The Terry College will collect both toys and money for bikes for Toys for Tots. Stan Johnson will ask if Wal-Mart to see if they will provide assistance in obtaining helmets (possibly provide a helmet for each bike we purchase). The deadline for Toys for Tots should be about the same as last year, December 16th. BAPS will send out notification soon.

There was a request sent to SRG for a discussion regarding collecting soap, shampoo, etc. for a charity or charities. Because of so many requests for donations at this time of year, this request was tabled for further discussion until February, at which time we can choose a charity or charities and give a list to staff of items needed. Logistics is willing to be the donation drop off location.

There was discussion about SRG nominating someone for the Search Committee for the new Dean, but Cindy had spoken to Elaine and they both felt that there was no need for SRG to specifically nominate someone. A SRG member was welcome to submit their own name to Ann Saye by the deadline.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45.
