Paul G. Schempp is an expert on expertise. Named the 2004 Distinguished Scholar by the International Center for Performance Excellence at West Virginia University, he has dedicated his professional life to understanding what it takes to be an expert performer. As a research professor and the Director of the Sport Instruction Research Laboratory at the University of Georgia, he has spent over a decade conducting award winning research into the characteristics and development of expertise.
Schempp, president of Performance Matters, Inc., is a professional speaker, coach and consultant. Schempp has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of research, teaching and professional development. The author of six books, including 5 Steps to Expert: How to go from Business Novice to Elite Performer, and having given over 150 presentations in 26 countries makes Professor Schempp an internationally renowned speaker, scholar, and educator. He has served as a Senior Fulbright Research Scholar at the University of Frankfurt (Germany) and the E.W. Barker Distinguished Scholar at the Nanyang Technical University in Singapore. He has delivered lecturers at two dozen Universities on three continents.
Applying research to practice, Schempp has designed successful performance programs for the Swedish Golf Federation and Mexico National Golf teams. He also coaches golf champions on the PGA Tour. His clients include the National Institute of Education in Singapore, Nix Health Care Systems, BASF, Club Corporation of America, the Professional Golf Association of America, Ladies Professional Golf Association, International Professional Tennis Registry, USA Track and Field Association, and the Swiss Soccer Federation.
