SportSouth (formerly Turner South) reaches more than nine million cable and satellite homes across a six-state region. Each year, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports Tennessee and SportSouth combine to televise more than 900 live professional and collegiate sporting events and more than 500 original programs.

Prior to joining FOX Sports South in 2005, Genthner served as senior vice president and general manager of FOX Sports Florida for four years and managed all facets of the network. Under his direction, FOX Sports Florida became a leader in programming and production excellence, earning 13 Emmy Award nominations and winning the cable industry's prestigious Beacon Award. Genthner served as vice president and general manager of SportsChannel Florida from 1988 to 1994, playing an integral role in the launch of that regional cable network in 1988. He helped foster its growth from a subscriber base of 200,000 at its inception to more than five million subscribers in 2005.

Since beginning his career in 1980, Genthner has held various roles within the television and broadcast industries including producer of New York Yankees and New York Islanders telecasts on SportsChannel New York, director of marketing for SportsVision Chicago, regional director for Anheuser-Busch's Sports Time Cable Network and general manager of PASS Sports in Michigan. Genthner currently serves as chairman of the Atlanta Sports Council.

Born in Manhasset, N.Y. , and raised in New York and Virginia, Genthner graduated from Michigan State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a minor in political science. He and his wife Renee reside in Atlanta and their two sons are currently attending college.
