Our alumni probably think of the Terry College as a business school where all of the educational opportunities lead to a degree – whether it's at the undergraduate or graduate level. There’s no doubt that teaching courses, mentoring students, and organizing learning experiences is certainly our biggest responsibility as a college of business. But we are a large business school with many facets. We serve our alumni and the business community in other ways as well. One such way is through executive programs.
We have a sizeable executive education operation that delivers open-enrollment and custom-designed non-degree programs. The Terry Executive Education Center in Atlanta is the base of operations for Terry’s Office of Executive Programs.
Charlie Squires, who directs executive programs at Terry, describes his unit’s mission as providing “sustainable, practical, and relevant executive education.” The Executive Programs staff engages the business community in a collaborative way. Executive Programs helps businesses develop expertise to overcome challenges and maximize opportunities. Some of the subject areas they are currently working on with clients include enterprise strategy, change management and innovation. The staff can also help professionals become certified in a variety of skill sets, like financial planning, that are relevant to current responsibilities or career aspirations.
If you haven’t looked recently at the portfolio of executive programs available from Terry, I encourage you to do so. The program options are updated regularly, to stay current with business trends. Go to http://executive.terry.uga.edu or contact Charlie Squires to find out how the Office of Executive Programs can help you.
