With the end of spring semester, the buzz of campus activity in Athens becomes quieter and the parking becomes easier. By way of comparison, the programs we deliver to our alumni and the business community will continue at their usual, fast pace.
Many of these programs are delivered at the Terry Executive Education Center in the Buckhead district of Atlanta. We just marked our fifth year as a tenant at our Lenox Road address. We hope our friends and neighbors are getting accustomed to seeing the Terry College name in lights at the high-traffic intersection of Lenox and Peachtree roads.
Just a few blocks away, our premier event – the Terry Alumni Award and Gala – was held April 24 at the InterContinental Buckhead. It was a huge success, with record attendance and another peerless year of fundraising to benefit the college. [Photos from the Gala]
We observed another anniversary at the Executive Education Center earlier this spring. Our breakfast speaker series, Terry Third Thursday, passed its 10-year milestone in March. The great thing about this monthly series is that it’s showing no signs of slowing down. Average attendance is up, and the Alumni Board committee in charge of Third Thursday keeps inviting compelling speakers who bring out an audience.
Our educational programs – ranging from the MBA programs that we teach in Buckhead and Gwinnett to the non-credit courses we offer in class and online – have become so popular that over the summer we will construct an additional classroom, add to our study space and increase the number of offices.
We are also reaching out to our alumni with new programs in Atlanta and other areas. For example, alumni from our real estate program gathered at Atlanta’s Terminus building in April for social and professional networking. Later this month, we will host Terry alumni receptions in New York City (May 17) and Washington, D.C. (May 18).
