J.M. Tull School of Accounting

MAcc/Five-Year Program Application Process

You are eligible to apply for admission to the graduate program for the MAcc Program if you hold a baccalaureate degree, from a regionally accredited institution, or an international equivalent. The Five-Year (BBA/MAcc) program is only available to currently enrolled BBA-Accounting students at the University of Georgia. Domestic applicants are U.S. citizens or naturalized U.S. citizens. International applicants are foreign nationals. Additional valuable information for the international applicant is located at the Graduate School's Information for Prospective International Students site.

Admission is increasingly difficult due to the combination of outstanding candidates applying and limited seating available within the program. This requires the MAcc Admissions Committee to be extremely selective. The Committee evaluates each file on its individual merits as it relates to the goals and purpose of our program. Selection is based on an evaluation of an applicant's scholastic ability, interpersonal skills, and career potential. This includes a review of academic transcripts, essays, test scores, and letters of recommendation. Minimums for consideration for the program are a 550 GMAT and a 3.00 for both overall GPA and accounting GPA. The most recent class average was a 610 GMAT and 3.60 overall and accounting GPA.

Once you apply and pay your application fee, you will be able to follow the progress of your application via an "Admissions Tracking Screen" provided by the Graduate School. Tentative decision dates are posted at the site once a file is deemed complete.

When your file is determined to be complete, by both the Graduate School and the Tull School, it will be forwarded to the MAcc Admissions Committee. Applications are reviewed as a group at dates determined by the Committee. They will review the file and make a recommendation to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will make the final decision and notify you by letter.
