MAcc/Five-Year Program Application Process
To apply for admission to the University of Georgia Graduate School for the MAcc Program, individuals must have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution or an international equivalent, with the exception of University of Georgia undergraduate students who are eligible for the five–year BBA/MAcc option.
Domestic applicants are U.S. citizens or naturalized U.S. citizens. International applicants are foreign nationals. Additional valuable information for the international applicant is located at the Graduate School's Information for Prospective International Students site.
Admission is increasingly difficult due to the combination of outstanding candidates applying and limited seating available within the program. This requires the MAcc Admissions Committee to be extremely selective. The Committee evaluates each file on its individual merits as it relates to the goals and purpose of our program. Selection is based on an evaluation of an applicant's scholastic ability, interpersonal skills, and career potential. This includes a review of academic transcripts, essays, test scores, resume, and letters of recommendation. Minimums for serious consideration for the program are a 550 GMAT and a 3.00 for both overall GPA and accounting GPA. International applicants should have an TOEFL iBT of 105 or IELTS band of 7.5. Meeting the suggested minimums does not guarantee admission as recent MAcc class GMAT scores and GPAs are significantly higher than the suggested minimums.
When your file is determined to be complete, by both the Graduate School and the Tull School, it will be forwarded to the MAcc Admissions Committee. Applications are reviewed periodically on a rolling admissions basis at dates determined by the Committee. They will review the file and make a recommendation to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will make the final decision and notify you by letter.
Deadlines
Applications are considered for Fall and Spring semesters. Summer admission is limited to domestic applicants who will be interning and would like to receive graduate credit towards the MAcc degree.
