CPA Exam & Licensing for the State of Georgia
The exam and licensing is a two-step educational process in Georgia. Below is the simplified version specifically for our UGA BBA-Accounting students. Specific details and requirements are available from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy
Step 1: Sitting for the CPA Exam
- Must have completed a baccalaureate degree or higher with twenty (20) semester hours or thirty (30) quarter hours in accounting subjects above the introductory level at a four year accredited college or university that offers a baccalaureate degree as defined by the Board.
Step 2: Licensing
- Pass all 4 parts of the CPA exam
- Satisfy State Board’s work experience requirements
- Total of 150 hours of courses on transcripts
- Hours must include minimum of 30 accounting hours beyond principles level
